The doctor checked out Gabe and determined that he was clear of ear infections or any other scary things, and said he thought it was a virus that was going around. Gabe ran another very high fever over night, but, at about 6:30 this morning, he was covered in sweat and running a normal temp.

At the moment he is sitting on my office floor watching DVDs on a laptop, and generally making it difficult for me to draft a response to a motion for summary judgment. :-)

In great adoption news, our visas came today from the Vietnamese Embassy in Washington DC! We are all cleared to enter Vietnam on January 5!

Right now, we are scheduled to fly out of Detroit on January 4. We will fly Detroit to Chicago on Northwest, then Chicago to Seoul and Seoul to Hanoi on Air Korea. We should land in Hanoi at 10:30 PM on January 5, 25 hours after we leave Detroit! Yikes!!

I think we are going to miss each other in Vietnam. Our daughter is in Hoi An, but we are staying in Danang for 5 days when we get there on the 26th. I think we will be gone from Hanoi when you get back up there. We are scheduled to leave Vietnam on January 13th. Congrats on getting the visas.

I'm glad Gabe is feeling better. It's no fun to be sick at Christmastime!
Hooray for the passports - you'll be in Vietnam before you know it!!

(let's see if Blogger will let me log in today!)

I can't imagine how excited and overwhelmed you must feel right now. The photo was GORGEOUS- how you must feel when you look into her eyes. I am so excited for you. I am also envious that you will be able to communicate with your daughter almost immediately (despite the language differences). It was really difficult with Gracie, and physical affection didn't help at all. It still doesn't, but at leastt she can understand some of what we are saying. Wow- so close!!

I'm glad Gabe is better. I think some kids are just prone to very high fevers. Our doc says they are usually indicators of a virus and nothing to worry about and most of the scariest illnesses are accompanied by lower fevers. Ha - not so reassuring at 3am when you see numbers like 105!!! I'm glad it has passed.

I'm so excited for you! It is just a matter of days for you now! Yikes!!!! Mom to a daughter :-)
