I've Been Sitting, Waiting, Wishing*
So, just for fun...how about a poll?
1. Did you vote?
2. How long did you wait to vote?
3. What did you do to pass the time whilst waiting to vote?
I'll go first. (See, yeah, it's my blog, so, I get to do that.)
1. Yes, I voted.
2. 45 minutes. (Husband waited an hour when the polls first opened at 6:30.)
3. At MAM's suggestion, I have been reading Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, and I tried to read that, but, I find that it takes more concentration than I was able to give it while waiting in line listening to all the conversation around me. Luckily I also brought along my trust pink Nintendo DS, so, I played MahJong Match for half an hour. I can't say I minded the wait. (I almost never get 30 uninterrupted minutes of Nintendo playing!)

1. yes I voted today
2. I was second in line so the wait was about 5 minutes (this was at 1 in the afternoon)
3. I passed the time by saying "don't step on her purse", "we vote because...", "please do not pick your sister up", and "today's history lesson starts here."
I love election day with 4 girls in tow :)
I went, and the line was four hours. I came back, and the line was two hours.
Then my husband and I came back together and waited about 30 minutes.
Our first election together :)
1. Yes, but I voted early on 10/27
2. 2h48m!!
3. The line was LONG and I was unprepared so I mostly spent the time chatting with other folks in line, whining about the unseasonably cold weather (we were in line outside), and concocting a plan to open a coffee cart business for other folks in line on the following days. The next day was 72, so not so much with the genius business idea.
1. Yes, this morning at 9AM.
2. Zero minutes. Walked in, took a ballot, voted, left.
3. Didn't have to pass any time!
Here's hoping I don't have to be camped out in front of the TV until morning to find out who won.
1. Yes I voted, early, almost 3 weeks ago.
2. I waited in line about 1/2 hour and voted in 5 minutes.
3. Tried to keep the girls quiet, and not on display to the million of people who kept going up to them and touching them and getting all up in their grill...old people and young people.
I can't WAIT for the end of it. I am on pins and needles!
1. Yes I voted - last Tuesday
2. I waited from 6:15am till the polls opened at 8:30. Was the 12th person in line
3. Talked to the people standing next to me and tried to stay warm since it was 30 degrees outside - but it was SOOOO worth it!
1. Yes, I voted.
2. Didn't wait at all.
3. Didn't have any time to pass.
Ahh, the bliss of small town life.
1. yes I voted (is anyone going to comment saying otherwise?!?).I voted two weeks ago.
2. Waited 20 minutes in line.
3. Held my breath and hoped not to overhear anything terribly ignorant, racist or otherwise over-the-top offensive.
1.Yes
2.Almost no wait - maybe 3 minutes? We had the fill in ballots so lots of people could go at once.
3.No time to pass. :-)
1. Yes I voted.
2. Surprisingly, I just walked in and voted @10am.
3. No time to pass!
Yep, I voted today.
No line. I even volunteered to try out the new touch-screen machine. Ooh, aah.
No time to pass, but it was remarkable that in looking at the sign-in book, I'd guess ~90% of my precinct has voted, as of 4:15 p.m.
1.yes i voted.
2.No line at all.
3.No wait. No time to kill.
Voted; we do it by mail here in Oregon, so no lines, no waiting.
On another note, I want to hear more about the nintendo. I saw an ad for something called, I think, "Brain Age"...brain teasers and puzzles, I think, to keep your brain all limber and strong. That sounds like fun to me. I also love Mah Jhong and would like that too.
1. Yes, I voted early on Saturday.
2. We waiting in line for about 20 minutes with absolutely no problems. Everyone was pleasant and ready to wait patiently for whatever was to happen. All went smoothly.
3. Chatted with my sweet daughter and kept smiling to myself about the significance of this election.
(1) Yes, I voted
(2) There was no line whatsoever and I went at 4:45 p.m. Of course, I was just dropping off my mail in ballot. The one I've had for well over a month but have been to lazy to mail. So even if I had to vote "in person," I wouldn't have had to wait. Plus, it was a few blocks from my house, which was awesome.
(3) Didn't have to do a thing!
1. Yes
2. I went at 7:45 and I had no wait at all - they said 50% of our voters voted early
3. Didn't have to pass any time
It's over!
Vote early- 5 minute wait.
Sean P.
No waits for us either. Max and Cal were shocked when we returned in only 15 minutes.
~Michelle
1. Voted early
2. Went mid-morning so no lines at all. Took all of 5 minutes.
3. As I voted I felt a sense of pride.
1. Yep, I voted
2. No waiting - I went at 7:30pm
3. No time to pass, but I took my kids with me and they watched me vote.
I voted. But in Oregon we strictly vote-by-mail! It's awesome! I got my ballot, filled it out while drinking a cup of coffee, researched measures on the internet, and dropped it off at the library! :-D
