It Is Done
The tonsils are out. Lana woke up a bit earlier than was expected from the anesthsia, so she woke in the recovery room before Husband and I were back there. She freaked out and they had to give her three doses of morphine and I had to climb on the gurney with her to help her calm down.
She has been taking liquids and popsicles, and this evening ate a little mac'n'cheese and some ramen noodles and two bites of banana. I suspect it's going to be a long couple of days. But I'm hopeful that once she is healed she will be able to breathe and swallow much more easily.
I'm going to catch some sleep while I can.

Glad to hear all went well. The initial wake up is the worst part…at least for us it was. Hope the recovery is quick.
I'm glad it's all over. I find the anticipation part to be worse than the recovery part of surgery. I hope Lana feels better soon.
Yay, Yikes and crap. Crap i meant to comment before letting you know I was thinking about you guys! And yay it's over and went well. Yikes about her waking before you could get to her. That sounds like enough morphine to drop a horse. She is a strong person just like her mama!
Poor Lana. The waking from the anesthesia is defintely the worst part - after Zeeb got past that he was just sort of nauseous the rest of the day but by bedtime he was fine and the next day it was like nothing ever happened - kind of amazing considering the huge amount of work he had done on his teeth. Hope Lana's recovery goes just as well.
The hard part is done. Praying that she heals quickly and rests well in the process. So sorry that she woke up early and you weren't there, but thank goodness you fit in the gurney with her.
