Just Call Me Cleopatra Everybody, Cause I'm the Queen of Denial*

Lana has small red spots all over her torso and her back and her neck. None of them have a blister over them.

It's not possible that she is coming down with chicken pox five days before every family we have descends upon us for my brother's wedding. Is it? IS IT???

She WAS vaccinated 15 months ago, and she doesn't have a fever. Or a headache...

Hmmm. My little girl (6 yrs old) came down with chicken pox last month and had been immunized for it months ago.
The Dr said as she had the shot it was an atypical presentation.

It must be going around. She had it for maybe 2 weeks before she had a secondary infection and I took her to the Dr.

She never got that sick I thought she just had a virus and they were bug bites. She is rather brown so it did not look like a red rash to me.

The school had to be called. A letter went out to all parents urging then to immunize their child (but omited to mention that my child -the chicken pox kid- had been immunized). Fun stuff...but she wasn't all that sick thank goodness.

Could it just be eczema? When my (asian) daughter gets it on her torso, that's how it looks, like red dots/pin pricks.

With the cold weather my gir's spots are back, and we are slathering on the aquaphor again. . .

Here's to hopping.

My daughter was immunized about a year before she got the chicken pox. They were not bad at all - we counted 140 spots on her, but they were not really bad like they normally are with full blown chicken pox. I would get her checked out though.

We flew into Colorado from Mi for a family wedding only to have our daughter break out in chicken pox. Went to a Dr. to be certain. No wedding or sight seeing for us. Our daughter had the vaccine 6 months earlier. Actually, both of our daughters(from China) came down with chicken pox 6 months after being immunized. At least they didn't have it as bad as not being immunized.

Good luck!

Oh no!!!!! well I think it's possible it is not the CP. It could be a viral rash or something. I really REALLY hope for your sake it is not. The timing could not be worse!

Ugh. I hope it's not CP. You know, Matty broke out in a horrible rash all over his arm and back the other night...and then it was gone in the morning. He was outside all day, so maybe an allergic reaction to something? I don't know, but I hope your girl doesn't have the CP. Let us know.

Oh no, not the Pox?! Actually, my older two had it as babies (before the shot was standard) and it was not a huge deal. A~ had a fever and was whiny but no more than any other cold or whatever. Has everyone in the family had it?
The worst thing about the pox is the doctor's office doesn't want you to bring the child in for confirmation because it will expose other kids - so how do you ever know for sure?
Hope it's just a rash and that Lana is feeling better already!
